A.R. Rahman Hospitalized Due to Dehydration-Related Chest Pain

Oscar-winning music maestro A.R. Rahman was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Chennai after experiencing discomfort upon his return from London.
According to his spokesperson, Rahman sought medical attention after feeling unwell last night. Doctors later confirmed that his condition was caused by dehydration, which was further aggravated by his fasting for Ramzan.
“He returned from London yesterday and wasn’t feeling well, so he decided to go for a check-up. The doctors have assured that it was just dehydration, likely due to his fasting,” the spokesperson informed NDTV.
Sources close to the legendary composer have reassured fans that he is recovering well and there is no cause for concern.
Rahman’s Personal Struggles in the Spotlight
Beyond his health scare, A.R. Rahman made headlines last year when he and his wife, Saira Banu, announced their divorce after 29 years of marriage. The couple, who share three children—AR Ameen, Khatija Rahman, and Raheema Rahman—made the decision public through their lawyers.
Following the announcement, Rahman shared a heartfelt message on X (formerly Twitter), expressing his emotions about the separation.
“We had hoped to reach the grand thirty, but all things, it seems, carry an unseen end. Even the throne of God might tremble at the weight of broken hearts. Yet, in this shattering, we seek meaning, though the pieces may not find their place again. To our friends, thank you for your kindness and for respecting our privacy as we walk through this fragile chapter. #arrsairaabreakup”
While Rahman continues to navigate personal and health challenges, his fans and well-wishers are hopeful for his speedy recovery.
