Hero Nithiin’s highly anticipated heist comedy entertainer Robinhood is all set to hit the big screens. The film stars Sreeleela as the female lead and is directed by Venky Kudumula. Produced on a grand scale by Mythri Movie Makers, the movie features legendary actor Rajendra Prasad in a crucial role, along with a special appearance by Australian cricket sensation David Warner.

With its promotional content already creating a massive buzz, the film’s songs, composed by GV Prakash Kumar, have become chartbusters. As the March 28 release date nears, excitement is at an all-time high. In a recent media interaction, Sreeleela shared her thoughts on the film, her role, and her journey.

Tell us about your role in Robinhood.

Sreeleela: I play Neera Vasudev, a girl who comes to India from abroad. She lives in her own world, believing everything revolves around her. The character is super cute and bubbly, and I’m sure audiences will absolutely love it.

Initially, Rashmika was considered for this film. How did you come on board?

Sreeleela: After back-to-back releases, I wanted to take a short break for my education. That’s when Venky Kudumula called me. Initially, Rashmika was supposed to do this role, and she loved the character, but due to scheduling conflicts, she couldn’t take it up. When we met during Pushpa shoot, she wished me all the best. I found the role very interesting and immediately said yes!

How was it working with Nithiin for the second time?

Sreeleela: Working with Nithiin is always a pleasure. He is a very calm and composed person, almost like a family man on set. Our entire team is extremely confident about Robinhood. We had ample time to perfect everything, ensuring the film delivers top-notch quality. I believe the audience will make it a big hit, and I hope Nithiin and I become a successful on-screen pair.

Tell us about the comedy track with Vennela Kishore and Rajendra Prasad.

Sreeleela: The comedy between Vennela Kishore and Rajendra Prasad is absolutely hilarious. Even during the shoot, we couldn’t stop laughing! My scenes with Vennela Kishore are going to be super fun. When I watched the final cut recently, I was laughing non-stop! Rajendra Prasad garu is a legend, and his comedy in this film is on another level.

How different is this film from your previous ones?

Sreeleela: I have never done a film with this level of humor before. This is my first full-fledged fun entertainer, and I’m super excited for it. Robinhood will always be one of the most memorable films in my career.

How was your experience working with Mythri Movie Makers?

Sreeleela: I feel proud to be part of the Mythri family. Working with them has been an amazing experience. They are wonderful producers who ensure the best for their actors. It truly feels like working on a film at home.

You took a one-year break despite having back-to-back releases. Why?

Sreeleela: Last year, I had almost one release every month. There were days when I worked on four to five shifts a day! I planned my schedule that way because I was in my final year of studies and wanted to balance both. I always knew I would take a break, but unfortunately, I missed out on some great films during this gap. Now that I’ve completed my medical studies, I can fully focus on my career. Of course, I still follow my college rules and attend whenever needed.

After Bhagavanth Kesari, fans expected you to take on more intense roles. Do you plan to do such characters in the future?

Sreeleela: Absolutely! Many times, people remember the movie but not the character. But after Bhagavanth Kesari, everyone calls me Vijji Papa wherever I go! That response was overwhelming. I want to do more such impactful roles while continuing commercial entertainers as well.

Whenever you’re spotted in Bollywood, rumors start that you’re shifting there. Any truth to that?

Sreeleela: (Laughs) Tollywood is my home! Moving to Bollywood permanently is impossible. I will always be a part of Telugu cinema.

Can you share details about your upcoming films?

Sreeleela: I’m currently working on Parashakti, Mass Jathara with Ravi Teja, and a Kannada-Telugu bilingual titled Junior. There are a few more exciting projects in the pipeline, which will be announced by the makers soon!

With Robinhood set for release on March 28, fans can’t wait to see Sreeleela in this hilarious entertainer alongside Nithiin. Stay tuned for more updates!
