Vishnu Manchu’s Kannappa Postponed: New Release Date Awaited

The highly anticipated fantasy film Kannappa, starring Vishnu Manchu, has been delayed from its initial release date of April 25, 2025. The postponement comes as the film’s makers prioritize extensive post-production work, particularly in the VFX department.

In an official statement, the team expressed their commitment to delivering a visually stunning experience, stating, “A crucial episode in the film requires intricate VFX work, which will take additional time to perfect. We deeply appreciate the audience’s patience and enthusiasm for Kannappa. This film is a tribute to Lord Shiva’s greatest devotee, and we are dedicated to presenting it in the most extraordinary way possible.” While the exact new release date has not been confirmed, the team assured fans that an update will be provided soon.

Rooted in Hindu mythology, Kannappa narrates the remarkable journey of an atheist who undergoes a profound transformation into an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva, enduring immense trials along the way. The film features an ensemble cast, including Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Arpit Ranka, Rahul Madhav, Devaraj, Mukesh Rishi, Brahmanandam, and Preity Mukhundhan, among others.

Adding to the film’s grandeur, superstar actors Mohanlal, Prabhas, Kajal Aggarwal, and Akshay Kumar (marking his Telugu debut) make special cameo appearances. Interestingly, Vishnu Manchu previously revealed that these stars graciously participated without charging any remuneration.

Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and produced by veteran actor Mohan Babu, Kannappa is being crafted on a massive budget to ensure an immersive cinematic experience. The film’s technical team includes composer Stephen Devassy, cinematographer Sheldon Chau, and editor Anthony, who are all working to elevate the project’s visual appeal.

As fans eagerly await updates, Kannappa promises to be a grand mythological spectacle when it finally graces the big screens.
