SS Rajamouli Drops Two-Part Format for Mahesh Babu’s Next – Here’s Why!

While early reports suggested that the film, tentatively titled SSMB 29, would be a two-part saga, fresh updates from Pinkvilla confirm that Rajamouli has decided to narrate this grand forest adventure in a single film.

Why Rajamouli Chose a Single-Part Narrative?

According to sources close to the production, Rajamouli has redefined his approach to storytelling. He originally popularized the two-part film format with Baahubali, but he now believes it has been overused in the industry.

While many filmmakers have capitalized on the two-part model, SSR is taking a different route by delivering a complete experience in a single installment. Much like RRR, this film too will have a runtime of around 3 hours and 30 minutes but will keep the audience engaged from start to finish.”

A Fusion of Mythology, Reality & Adventure

The untitled film, set against the mystical backdrop of Kashi, promises a visually stunning and emotionally gripping experience. Blending elements of mythology, realism, and adventure, Rajamouli is pulling out all the stops to make this one of India’s most ambitious films to date.

With shooting already underway, Rajamouli is preparing to drop a special two-minute announcement video featuring actual footage from the film. The post-production work for this teaser is currently in progress.

Meanwhile, both Mahesh Babu and SS Rajamouli have struck a 40% back-end deal with producers D.V.V. Danayya & Narayana K.L., ensuring a shared stake in the film’s massive potential success.
