Rajamouli Shares His Most-Anticipated Indian Films, Talks About RRR Documentary in Japan

After the roaring global success of RRR, acclaimed filmmaker SS Rajamouli continues to make waves — this time in Japan. His blockbuster film recently became the highest-grossing Indian movie in the Japanese market, and now the buzz has shifted to RRR: Behind and Beyond, a behind-the-scenes documentary that’s being released in Japan. Rajamouli visited the country for its promotion and participated in several interviews.

During one such interaction, the celebrated director was asked about the Indian films he’s personally looking forward to. Rajamouli named three projects that have caught his eye: NTR Jr.’s Dragon, helmed by KGF director Prashanth Neel; Spirit, starring Prabhas and directed by Arjun Reddy maker Sandeep Reddy Vanga; and Ram Charan’s Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana of Uppena fame.

Both Dragon and Peddi are currently in production, while Spirit is gearing up to go on floors soon. All three are high-profile films with massive expectations attached, and Rajamouli’s endorsement only adds to the excitement surrounding them.

As for Rajamouli himself, he is immersed in the making of his next big adventure — a jungle-themed action epic starring Mahesh Babu. Tentatively titled SSMB29, the film has already completed a few schedules in Hyderabad and Odisha. The project features global talents, with Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran playing significant roles. The film is being produced by KL Narayana, with music composed by Rajamouli’s longtime collaborator MM Keeravani.

With excitement building for SSMB29 and Rajamouli’s keen interest in upcoming Indian films, the future of Indian cinema looks both grand and promising.
