Kichcha Sudeep Kickstarts Sci-Fi Action Film BRB – The First Blood, Set in the Year 2209 AD

Kannada superstar Kichcha Sudeep has finally dropped a major update on his long-awaited action extravaganza Billa Ranga Baashaa — now officially titled BRB – The First Blood. After months of anticipation and production delays, the actor took to social media today to announce that filming has officially begun on April 16.

Sharing a powerful new poster on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Sudeep unveiled the film’s futuristic setting, writing:
“2209 AD – #BRBFirstBlood. The journey begins today. For us, this mammoth dream and vision going on floors is an unparalleled excitement.”

The project has been in the works for quite some time, with Sudeep earlier hinting that the shoot would commence in March 2025. Despite the delay, the actor’s latest announcement has reignited excitement among fans, with expectations riding high for what’s shaping up to be a groundbreaking cinematic experience in Kannada cinema.

Set nearly two centuries into the future, BRB – The First Blood promises to be a sci-fi action adventure on an epic scale. Directed by Anup Bhandari, this marks the second collaboration between the filmmaker and Sudeep after their previous box office success Vikrant Rona.

According to reports, the film is designed as a two-part saga and will lean heavily on high-end VFX and custom-designed 3D sets. The shooting schedule will follow an ambitious plan — with non-stop filming in batches of 20–25 days, while new futuristic sets are constructed alongside the shoot to create an immersive world of 2209 AD.

Produced with high technical standards, BRB aims to push boundaries in Indian cinema with its visionary storytelling and visual spectacle. The project has already generated buzz not just for its scale, but also for the creative ambition behind it.

Meanwhile, Kichcha Sudeep’s last outing, Max, proved to be a massive hit at the box office, holding strong even amid stiff competition. With BRB – The First Blood, the star looks all set to explore an entirely new cinematic universe — and fans can’t wait to see what’s in store.
