“I played a very interesting character in HIT 3; the film will offer a thrilling experience,” says heroine Srinidhi Shetty

Natural Star Nani’s highly anticipated crime action thriller HIT: The 3rd Case features Srinidhi Shetty in a key role. Directed by Dr. Sailesh Kolanu and produced by Prashanti Tipirneni under Wall Poster Cinema and Nani’s Unanimous Productions banners, the film has already created a sensation across the country with its teasers, trailers, and songs. Set for a Pan-India release on May 1st, Srinidhi recently shared her experience during a media interaction.
How is your character going to be in this film?
“In this movie, I portray a character named Mridula. You’ve already seen glimpses of Arjun Sarkar’s character in the teaser and trailer — it’s intense, violent, and multi-layered. Mridula, while connected to Arjun Sarkar, is an independent character with her own strong identity. There are many hidden layers to Mridula, and you will truly understand the depth of the character only when you watch the film.”
What importance does your character have in the story?
“Usually, in investigative crime thrillers, the heroine’s role might not have much significance. But director Sailesh Kolanu is a brilliant writer. If you observe HIT and HIT 2, the importance of the heroine’s character keeps growing. Similarly, in HIT 3, my character is seamlessly blended into the storyline. You’ll realize the importance when you watch the film.”
How was your experience working with Nani?
“I’ve watched all of Nani’s films. He’s a natural performer and a very grounded person. Working with him was truly a wonderful experience. He made the set so comfortable, which naturally helped bring out the best in my performance.”
We heard you dubbed for yourself in this movie?
“Yes! I personally dubbed for my character. Initially, a dubbing artist recorded the lines, but I requested the director to let me try. After I dubbed, they liked my voice and finalized it. It feels so good to have my voice in my first Telugu film. I made sure to sound like a native Telugu girl rather than a Kannada girl.”
This is your first Telugu film. How do you feel about the film getting an A certificate?
“When I first heard the story, I realized it had a strong element of violence. And honestly, this level of violence is necessary for the story. It’s a raw, intense world — different from something like KGF. Somehow, I end up doing films with a lot of action! (laughs) Just like the dialogue in KGF: ‘I don’t like violence, but violence likes me!‘”
What can you say about director Sailesh Kolanu?
“This was my first time doing an investigative thriller-action drama. Sailesh sir supported me throughout the process. He explained everything in detail and guided me through every scene. His planning and execution are amazing. I truly believe he will deliver many more brilliant films in the future.”
What’s your opinion on Mickey J. Meyer’s music for the film?
“Mickey J. Meyer sir gave extraordinary music for this thriller. It’s a fresh, thrilling background score that fits perfectly. The first song ‘Prema Velluva‘ has become a massive hit. The song sung by Anirudh also became very popular. Audiences are definitely going to love the music.”
Will you be seen in KGF 3?
“(Smiles) That’s something you’ll have to wait and watch!”
There were reports that you rejected the role of Sita in Ramayana. Is that true?
“To clarify — I auditioned for the role of Sita, that’s true. But after the audition, I never received a follow-up call. I didn’t reject the role. Such big decisions are made by the filmmakers, not by me. Through the media, I later found out that Sai Pallavi was finalized for the role.”
What upcoming projects are you working on?
“I’m currently busy shooting for a film titled ‘Telusu Kada’.”
