Director Jyothi Krishna Reshapes Bobby Deol’s Aurangzeb Role in Hari Hara Veera Mallu After Being Inspired by Animal

Bobby Deol’s portrayal of the fierce Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in the upcoming period action epic Hari Hara Veera Mallu, starring Pawan Kalyan, is undergoing a dramatic transformation. The film, helmed by director Jyothi Krishna, was already well into production when an unexpected source of inspiration brought a significant shift to the script — Bobby Deol’s riveting performance in Animal.

Speaking about the decision, Jyothi Krishna revealed, “When I watched Animal, I was stunned by Bobby Deol garu’s performance. His ability to evoke raw emotion purely through his expressions — without uttering a single word — was extraordinary. It left a deep impression on me.” The director felt that such untapped intensity needed to be fully explored in Hari Hara Veera Mallu as well.

As a result, Jyothi Krishna reworked Aurangzeb’s character from the ground up. What was initially a straightforward historical antagonist is now being reimagined with greater emotional depth, a richer backstory, and a more psychologically layered portrayal. From motivation to mannerisms, every aspect of the character has been tailored to reflect the powerful presence that Bobby Deol now brings to the screen.

“When I presented the revamped version of Aurangzeb, Bobby garu was immediately thrilled,” said Jyothi Krishna. “He is an artist who constantly seeks to reinvent himself, and this version of Aurangzeb allows him to explore his darker, more intense side in an entirely new way.”

The new design promises a more menacing, yet emotionally resonant antagonist, with Bobby Deol’s screen presence set to be one of the standout elements of the film. His expressive eyes, refined physicality, and controlled rage will bring a fresh dimension to the character, elevating the conflict with Pawan Kalyan’s Veera Mallu.

With Hari Hara Veera Mallu slated for release on July 24, 2025, expectations are sky-high, especially with this powerful new spin on one of history’s most complex rulers.
