YRF’s Secret Strategy: Hrithik Roshan & NTR to Stay Apart Until War 2 Hits Theatres!

Yash Raj Films is once again pulling off a bold and unconventional promotional move — this time for one of 2025’s most anticipated cinematic face-offs: War 2. Featuring two of Indian cinema’s biggest stars, Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr., the high-octane actioner will mark their first-ever on-screen clash. But in a move to heighten the anticipation, YRF has decided not to bring them together during pre-release promotions.
Sources close to the development reveal that YRF is opting for separate promotional campaigns for the two superstars. “Hrithik and NTR will never share the stage, screen, or interview platform before War 2 releases,” a trade insider said. “This calculated separation is designed to intensify the audience’s anticipation. Their fiery on-screen rivalry is central to the film’s narrative, and YRF wants viewers to feel that explosive conflict firsthand—without diluting it with pre-release camaraderie.”
This tactic aligns with YRF’s history of unconventional marketing for its Spy Universe films. In the first War, Hrithik and Tiger Shroff weren’t seen together until post-release, enhancing the thrill of their cinematic showdown. With Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan avoided interviews, opting instead for stylized teaser clips, and the mystery paid off with record-breaking box office numbers. The Tiger Zinda Hai campaign also surprised fans by revealing franchise connections at just the right moment, expanding the Spy Universe without spoiling its momentum.
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 promises to be the next big spectacle in the Spy Universe franchise. It also introduces Kiara Advani in a never-before-seen, deadly avatar. The film is scheduled for a massive IMAX release worldwide on August 14, 2025, with Aditya Chopra producing under the YRF banner.
This intense, silence-before-the-storm strategy makes it clear: War 2 isn’t just another film — it’s a cinematic event where two titans collide, and YRF wants that impact to hit hard, right where it belongs — on the big screen.
