SJ Suryah Returns to Direction with Pan-India Film Killer, AR Rahman On Board for Music

After a decade-long break from directing, multi-talented actor-filmmaker SJ Suryah is making a grand comeback with his ambitious new project titled Killer. Known for his distinctive storytelling and intense on-screen persona, Suryah will don multiple hats in this venture—serving as the writer, director, and lead actor—making Killer one of his most personal and creatively-driven projects to date.

The film is a prestigious collaboration between Angel Studios, owned by SJ Suryah, and the renowned Sree Gokulam Movies, headed by veteran producer Gokulam Gopalan. It is being co-produced by V. C. Praveen and Baiju Gopalan, with Krishnamoorthy serving as the executive producer.

Taking the project to the next level is none other than Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman, who joins Killer to deliver a powerful and emotive musical score. This marks Rahman’s fifth collaboration with Suryah, following their previous work on Naani, New, Anbe Aaruyire, and Puli. His involvement underscores the scale and artistic ambition of the film.

Planned as a pan-India release in five languages, Killer aims to resonate with a broad audience, combining gripping narrative with strong performances and a memorable musical experience.

Details about the rest of the cast and crew will be revealed soon, but with Suryah’s dynamic return to direction and Rahman’s musical magic, Killer is already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated projects in Indian cinema.
