Vijay Deverakonda Clarifies Stand After ED Inquiry: “I Promoted a Legal Gaming Platform, Not a Betting App”

Following his appearance before the Enforcement Directorate (ED), actor Vijay Deverakonda addressed the media to clarify his involvement with an online platform under scrutiny. He firmly stated that the app he endorsed was a registered legal gaming platform, not an illegal betting service.
Vijay explained that during the ED questioning, he submitted all required documentation, including his official contract, bank details, and transaction history. He added that the ED officers seemed satisfied with his cooperation and transparency.
Highlighting the crucial difference between legal skill-based gaming apps and unregulated betting platforms, Vijay said, “There’s a major distinction that needs to be understood. Apps like A23, My11Circle, and Dream11 are registered companies that not only follow legal frameworks but also sponsor prestigious events like the IPL, WPL, the Indian cricket team, and even the Olympics.”
He further clarified, “I only promoted A23, which is fully legal and government-registered. There’s nothing unlawful about it.”
Concluding his statement, Vijay remarked, “We have institutions like the Supreme Court and the Government to interpret and decide what is right. As far as my involvement goes, I’ve acted in accordance with the law, and my approach has been fully transparent from the beginning.”
With this clarification, Vijay Deverakonda has emphasized the importance of legal compliance, public awareness, and clear communication in distinguishing between entertainment platforms and illegal betting services.
