“Gurram Paapireddy” will give complete entertainment to the audience as a different dark comedy: Heroine Faria Abdullah

Actress Faria Abdullah believes that the upcoming film Gurram Paapireddy will offer audiences a refreshing cinematic experience, describing it as a distinctive dark comedy packed with complete entertainment. The film stars Naresh Agastya opposite her and is directed by Murali Manohar, who brings an unconventional concept rarely explored on screen. The project is presented by Dr. Sandhya Goli and produced by Venu Saddi, Amar Bura, and Jayakanth (Bobby). The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on the 19th of this month.

Speaking in a recent interview, Faria shared insights into her role and the film’s unique narrative. She plays Soudhamini, a nurse with dreams of becoming a doctor. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she crosses paths with Gurram Paapireddy, leading her into a chaotic chain of events. Along with his gang, her character is drawn into a robbery, setting the stage for a story that humorously explores the clash between sharp minds and clueless characters. Faria hinted that the film keeps audiences guessing about which side her character truly belongs to.

Adding to the film’s comic strength, Brahmanandam appears as a judge, with several courtroom sequences featuring characters arriving in varied disguises, creating highly entertaining situations. Faria noted that she has mostly been associated with lighthearted entertainers and genuinely enjoys working in the comedy space, though she is equally keen on exploring intense and serious roles.

She clarified that her role in Gurram Paapireddy is entirely different from her popular Chitti character in Jathi Ratnalu. While Chitti was innocent and naïve, Soudhamini is portrayed as smart and perceptive. The film also allowed her to experiment with multiple looks, which required long hours of preparation during summer shoots. Despite the effort, she described it as a rare and rewarding opportunity for an actor.

Faria also revealed her interest in direction and scriptwriting, mentioning that she often used her free time on set to think about new stories and characters. She credited co-star Naresh Agastya, who is also a writer, for encouraging her creative pursuits.

Praising the producers, she said that although they are relatively new, they handled the project with remarkable dedication. According to her, they ensured smooth coordination on set and are putting in strong efforts to promote and distribute the film effectively. She also spoke highly of music director Krishna Saurabh, stating that both the songs and background score add significant value. A special promotional song featuring her has also been released as part of the film’s marketing.

While she doesn’t share scenes with Brahmanandam, Faria mentioned enjoying working with Yogi Babu in a major action sequence. She described her experience with Naresh Agastya as pleasant and said she could visualize the film’s humour clearly from the moment she heard the script. She credited director Murali Manohar, who has studied and worked abroad, for translating the concept to screen with passion and precision.

Expressing confidence ahead of the premiere, Faria said she is eager to see how audiences respond to the film. She also shared updates about her upcoming projects, including discussions around Mathu Vadalara 3, a Tamil film with Sandeep Kishan slated for next year, and an important role in Gayapadda Simham, which she described as having a powerful script. Additionally, she is planning to explore independent music albums.

Concluding the interaction, Faria stated that she aims to work across all genres, including dark action films and even roles like serial killers. She emphasized that female characters need not be limited to glamour alone and expressed excitement about action-oriented roles. Reflecting on her journey post-Jathi Ratnalu, she said she does not dwell on past success and considers her ability to move on from each project as a strength.
