Story:
Karmanye Vadhikaraste unfolds through three parallel storylines, each seemingly independent but secretly linked beneath the surface.
A man named Prudhvi (Prudhvi) accidentally hits someone with his vehicle, leading to a death. The case lands in the hands of Arjun (Shatru), a tough cop who soon discovers through the post-mortem report that the victim was already dead before the accident. Intrigued, Arjun begins investigating when similar unexplained cases appear across Vizag.
Meanwhile, Kireeti (Brahmaji), a dedicated police officer stationed at a check post, stumbles upon an unconscious rape victim. He quietly shelters her at home until she recovers, only to find photographs of guns and coded messages in her bag. His curiosity turns into an investigation of her true identity.
On another track, Jai (Master Mahendran), an ad filmmaker, is revealed to be kidnapping women after drugging them.
How are these three men connected? What’s the truth behind the mysterious girl? And what hidden force ties these cases together? The answers unfold in a web of crime, deceit, and suspense.
Performances:
Brahmaji shines as the honest and duty-bound cop, effortlessly embodying integrity and restraint. Shatru once again proves his mettle with a composed yet intense portrayal of a police officer investigating a layered case. Master Mahendran, known for his child artist days, delivers a solid act, switching effectively between charm and menace in a dual-shaded role.
Sri Sudha brings brief comic relief, while Ayesha, Ira Dayanand, Prasad Behara, Banerjee, Prudhvi, Sivaji Raja, and Ajay Ratnam fit neatly into their respective parts.
Analysis:
Director Amar Deep Challapalli attempts an ambitious structure — three interlinked investigations that at first appear disjointed but gradually converge into a larger picture. The first half focuses on establishing the three narrative tracks, maintaining curiosity through subtle clues and a hint of romance between Arjun and Subhadra.
It’s the interval twist, however, that hooks you in — when mysterious orders link both cops, hinting at a much bigger conspiracy. The second half picks up strong momentum, with continuous revelations and solid narrative payoffs that make it engaging and unpredictable.
Though the screenplay cleverly connects the subplots, some portions could’ve been presented more clearly to avoid confusion. Still, the payoff works well — especially with the unexpected ending, which deliberately sets up a sequel, leaving audiences intrigued for Karmanye Vadhikaraste 2.
The film bravely touches on serious contemporary issues like honey trapping, illegal immigration, and national security threats, grounding its thrills in realism while maintaining entertainment value.
Technical Aspects:
Visually, Karmanye Vadhikaraste impresses with crisp cinematography and tight editing, keeping the runtime at a sharp two hours — a huge plus. The production values are solid, lending authenticity to the investigative tone.
While the music and background score could’ve been stronger in elevating key moments, the direction and pacing ensure the film rarely loses steam.
Highlights:
✅ Engaging interval twist and layered screenplay
✅ Brahmaji and Shatru’s performances
✅ Gripping second half with strong revelations
✅ Short and neat runtime
Drawbacks:
❌ Slight lack of clarity in narrative transitions
❌ Background score could’ve packed more punch
Verdict:
Karmanye Vadhikaraste is a smartly written investigative thriller that successfully weaves three separate storylines into one gripping puzzle. While not flawless, its tight second half, solid performances, and surprise-filled narrative make it an engaging watch for fans of the genre.
It ends on a bold cliffhanger, promising an even more intense continuation.
⭐ Rating: 2.75/5 – A well-crafted, twist-heavy thriller that keeps you guessing till the end.
