Despite Mixed Buzz, Game Changer Dominates Day One Box Office

Ram Charan ushered in 2025 with a bang as his latest pan-India film, Game Changer, directed by the celebrated Shankar, hit theaters worldwide on Friday. The film, touted as a high-octane entertainer, opened to an electrifying response at the box office, defying mixed reviews to post robust collections.

On its opening day, Game Changer garnered a staggering worldwide Gross Box Office Collection (GBOC) of over ₹186 crore, according to official sources. In India alone, the film amassed ₹51.25 crore, a commendable start for a film of this scale.

While the opening figures fell short of Ram Charan’s previous blockbuster RRR, which debuted with ₹133 crore domestically, Game Changer still managed to cement its position as a major box office contender. The film’s impact extended beyond the Telugu-speaking states, finding favor in the North Indian circuit and international markets.

Box Office Breakdown: Day 1

  • Telugu Version: ₹42 crore
  • Tamil Version: ₹2.1 crore
  • Hindi Version: ₹7 crore
  • Kannada Version: ₹10 lakh
  • Malayalam Version: ₹3 lakh

The Telugu version witnessed solid occupancy rates, with 51.32% for morning shows, 39.33% for afternoon shows, and 50.53% for evening shows. The Hindi 4DX version saw an impressive 82% occupancy during afternoon screenings, according to The Indian Express

With the Sankranti festive season providing an additional boost, Game Changer is poised to maintain strong momentum over the weekend. Fans eagerly await how the film performs in the coming days, especially with the massive buzz surrounding Ram Charan’s pan-India stardom.

This release also marks a pivotal moment for cinema-goers, as they experience their first major big-screen spectacle since the long-running success of Pushpa: The Rule. Game Changer is well-positioned to take over the festive box office, solidifying Ram Charan’s standing as Global Star.
