‘Dhurandhar’ Returns to Theatres Worldwide Ahead of ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ Release

In a strategic move to build excitement for the upcoming sequel, the makers of Dhurandhar have announced a global theatrical re-release of the blockbuster film. The re-run is being organized by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, just days before the sequel Dhurandhar: The Revenge hits cinemas on March 19, 2026.

The original film will return to the big screen across around 500 screens worldwide. Approximately 250 screens across India began screening the film from March 12, while another 250 international locations are set to start from March 13.

Fans Get the Chance to Experience the Saga Again

The re-release offers fans a unique opportunity to revisit the story that turned Dhurandhar into a major success in the spy-action genre. Viewers can now relive the first chapter in theatres before witnessing the continuation of the story with the sequel just days later.

Re-releases have become increasingly popular in India, but a global theatrical comeback for a Hindi film remains rare, highlighting the massive worldwide demand for the franchise. In North America alone, the film is returning to around 185 theatres, reflecting the growing anticipation for the upcoming sequel.

Special Premieres Planned for the Sequel

To further build momentum, special premiere shows of Dhurandhar: The Revenge are scheduled across the United States and Canada on March 18, a day before the official release.

These premieres will take place largely on Premium Large Format (PLF) screens, featuring Dolby Atmos sound systems, expansive wall-to-wall screens, advanced projection technology, and luxury seating. Such formats are typically reserved for major global cinematic events, making this a notable launch strategy.

Early ticket bookings for these mid-week premiere shows have already witnessed strong demand and several sold-out screenings, signaling the scale at which the sequel is expected to open.

Global Buzz Around the Sequel

The recently released trailer of Dhurandhar: The Revenge has already sparked major discussions across social media and trade circles. With the original film returning to theatres and the sequel arriving shortly afterward, the stage is set for audiences worldwide to experience the franchise’s action-packed narrative once again.

Dhurandhar: The Revenge is written, directed, and produced by Aditya Dhar, with production by Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar.

The high-octane spy-action thriller will release globally on March 19, 2026, coinciding with festive occasions such as Gudi Padwa and Ugadi, and just ahead of Eid al-Fitr.
