Gaayapadda Simham: Pavan Sadineni Presents Tharun Bhascker–Kasyap Sreenivas’ Quirky Entertainer; Trailer on Feb 9

Tharun Bhascker, known for consistently backing unconventional and refreshing cinema, is all set to headline another distinctive project. This time, he teams up with writer-director Kasyap Sreenivas for a film that promises to blend satire, humour, and sharp storytelling.

The film is presented by Pavan Sadineni, who is currently helming Dulquer Salmaan’s Aakasamlo Oka Tara. Production responsibilities are jointly handled by Kalyana Chakravarthy Manthina, Bhanu Kiran Pratapa, Vijay Krishna Lingamaneni, and Umesh Bansal, under the banners of Saptaswa Media Works, POV Stories, and Zee Studios.

On Friday, the makers officially revealed the film’s title through an eye-catching and imaginative poster. Titled Gaayapadda Simham, the announcement instantly sparked curiosity with its bold visual language and playful undertones.

The title poster stands out with its red-and-white, American pop-art–inspired aesthetic, featuring a speeding aircraft against a backdrop of stars and vertical stripes that subtly echo the US flag. The distressed, stamp-like texture gives the artwork an authentic, globe-trotting vibe, hinting at a narrative that could be adventurous, irreverent, and sharply satirical.

Adding to the intrigue are quirky visual elements—a realistically illustrated revolver, a caricature bearing resemblance to former US President Donald Trump, and a classic NATARAJA compass box, evoking nostalgia. Together, these details suggest a layered mix of political satire, crime, and offbeat humour. The tongue-in-cheek tagline, “Don’t Laugh! It’s a Serious Matter!”, further reinforces the film’s playful contradiction. The makers have also confirmed that the trailer will be unveiled on February 9.

The film features Faria Abdullah and Maanasa Choudhary as the female leads, with Vishnu Oi, Harshavardhan, and Subhalekha Sudhakar playing significant supporting roles.

Technically, the project is backed by a strong creative crew. Vidya Sagar Chinta serves as the cinematographer, Sweekar Agasthi composes the music, and Viplav Nyshadam handles editing. Art direction is led by Chandrika Gorrepati, while the story has been written by Surya Prakash Jyosula.

Production is nearing completion, with only one song remaining to be shot, placing the film firmly on track for its next promotional phase.
