Hebah Patel Interview on ‘Odela 2’: My Character Will Have a Huge Impact, The Film Offers a Great Theatrical Experience
The highly anticipated supernatural thriller ‘Odela 2’, a sequel to Odela Railway Station, is all set for a grand theatrical release on April 17, 2025. Directed by Ashok Teja under the supervision of Sampath Nandi, the film is being produced by D Madhu under Madhu Creations and Sampath Nandi Teamworks. Featuring Tamannaah Bhatia in a never-seen-before role, the film has generated massive buzz with its promotional content. Tamannaah plays a mystical Nag Sadhvi, while Hebah Patel and Vasishta N. Simha play crucial roles. With the recently released teaser elevating expectations, Odela 2 is poised to be one of the biggest attractions this summer.
As part of the film’s promotions, Hebah Patel shared her experiences in a press meet.
Did you anticipate a sequel when working on Odela Railway Station?
“We shot Odela Railway Station during the lockdown when everything had come to a standstill. Sampath Nandi and his team took the bold step of moving forward with the film despite the uncertainty. At that time, I never thought there would be a sequel. But the film became a bigger success than we had imagined, and audiences loved it. However, I never expected Odela 2 to be made on such a grand scale. What started as a small experiment has now turned into an ambitious sequel, and I am thrilled to be part of it.”
How does Odela 2 differ from the first part?
“While Odela Railway Station was an out-and-out murder mystery, Odela 2 is a supernatural thriller. It’s much bigger in scale with incredible elements that will offer audiences a spectacular theatrical experience.”
How was your on-screen collaboration with Tamannaah Bhatia?
“I have a few combination scenes with Tamannaah garu, who plays my sister in the film. However, a major part of my role is set around jail episodes. Just like my character made a strong impact in the first part, it will have the same intensity in Odela 2 as well.”
How has Odela shaped your career?
“While Kumari 21F gave me fame, Odela gave me credibility as an actress. It made people believe that I could handle diverse roles. I learned a lot from the experience.”
How was it working with Sampath Nandi?
“Sampath Nandi garu is a visionary filmmaker. When he first narrated my character in Odela, I was shocked. I wasn’t sure if I could pull off such a performance-driven role. But he had immense faith in me, which gave me confidence. He is not just a great director but also a kind and supportive person. Working with him was truly fulfilling.”
What did you learn from Tamannaah?
“Tamannaah garu takes every role very seriously. The way she prepares for her characters is truly inspiring. For Odela 2, she did in-depth preparation, which I really admired. When I did Odela, I wasn’t used to doing homework for a role. Watching Tamannaah made me realize the importance of detailed preparation, and I plan to follow that approach in the future.”
How was the experience working with director Ashok Teja?
“I worked with Ashok Teja garu from the first film. He is very clear with his vision and works seamlessly with Sampath Nandi garu. Their teamwork is excellent, making the whole process smooth and enjoyable.”
What can you say about producer D Madhu?
“Madhu garu has taken this project to the next level, ensuring there were no compromises in production. The film has been made on a grand scale, and I hope it becomes a huge success for him.”

“The film’s muhurtham (auspicious launch) was held in Kashi, and the teaser was released at Kumbh Mela. Since the story is deeply connected to spirituality and devotion, we strongly believe in the divine power supporting our journey.”

How was it working with Vasishta N. Simha?

You have completed 10 years in the industry. How has the journey been?
“It has been a great journey with ups and downs. But as an actor, I am always happy. Success and failure are never final—you just have to keep working hard. I have learned a lot over the years, and I see myself continuing for another 10 years in the industry.”
What kind of roles would you like to do next?
“I have explored various genres, but I really want to do a full-fledged comedy entertainer.”
What are your upcoming projects?
“I have two Telugu films ready for release and am also working on a Kannada film, which will begin shooting next month.”
