JJ Perry Brings Indian Stunt Team to Spotlight for 45-Day Action Schedule of Yash’s Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-ups

Hollywood action master JJ Perry, best known for his work on John Wick, Fast & Furious, and Day Shift, is now making waves in Indian cinema. For the upcoming big-budget film Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-ups, starring Yash and directed by Geetu Mohandas, Perry is helming an unprecedented 45-day action shoot in Mumbai—right in the middle of the monsoon season.
All-Indian Stunt Crew for a Global Vision
Unlike his earlier projects that involved international stunt teams, Perry has chosen to collaborate exclusively with Indian stunt talent for this key schedule. Impressed by their skill and dedication, he believes they match the best in the world.
“This Indian crew is world-class,” Perry shared. “We’re attempting one of the toughest sequences I’ve ever been part of, and this team is pushing the limits with me. Challenges excite me—and these guys are meeting every single one of them.”
Massive Action Block Designed with Precision
The sequence is the result of months of storyboarding, previs work, rehearsals, and creative planning. The collaboration involves Perry, Yash (who is also the film’s producer), director Geetu Mohandas, cinematographer Rajeev Ravi, DNEG’s VFX division, and producer Venkat K Narayana.
This partnership, especially between Venkat K Narayana and Yash, has secured the scale, resources, and budget needed to mount one of the biggest action spectacles in Indian cinema.
Beyond Action: Emotional Depth & Storytelling
While Toxic promises jaw-dropping action, the makers emphasize that it isn’t just about visual thrills. The film aims to balance spectacle with emotion, weaving an intense narrative with mass appeal.
“I’ve worked in 39 countries across my 35-year career, but Indian cinema has always fascinated me with its creativity and boldness,” Perry said. “Working with Yash, Geetu, and Venkat has been a highlight. Geetu’s vision and the technical brilliance of the team are taking this film to the next level.”
A First-of-its-Kind Bilingual Production
Another unique aspect of Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-ups is that it’s being shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam. This ensures authenticity while giving the film a global reach.
Perry added:
“As an American, my culture is only a few hundred years old. India’s culture is thousands of years rich and layered. Blending that depth with global cinematic grammar has been very exciting. I’m not here to replicate; I’m here to create something new—and Toxic gives me that opportunity.”
Grand Release Planned
Jointly produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, the film is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on March 19, 2026. With Yash’s star power, Geetu Mohandas’ unique storytelling, and JJ Perry’s Hollywood-level action craft, Toxic is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious pan-Indian films ever made.
