Kangana Ranaut to Debut in Hollywood with Horror Drama ‘Blessed Be The Evil’

Celebrated Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is set to take a major step in her career with her upcoming Hollywood debut. She will star in Blessed Be The Evil, a psychological horror drama directed by filmmaker Anurag Rudra. The project also features Teen Wolf actor Tyler Posey and Scarlet Rose Stallone, daughter of Hollywood legend Sylvester Stallone.
The film centers around a Christian couple grappling with the emotional aftermath of a miscarriage. Hoping to start anew, they move into a seemingly abandoned farmhouse, only to find themselves confronting a dark and sinister force that challenges their love, beliefs, and sanity.
Co-writer and director Anurag Rudra revealed that the story draws deeply from eerie folktales he heard as a child growing up in rural India. “These stories held such power and emotion for me that I wanted to share them with the world through the universal language of cinema,” Rudra explained.
Production for Blessed Be The Evil is scheduled to begin this summer in New York. According to reports, the decision to film in the U.S. was made to avoid unpredictability caused by recent political developments, including issues stemming from Donald Trump’s re-emergence in the spotlight.
The film is co-written and co-produced by Gatha Tiwary, who also serves as the president and founder of Lions Movies. Tiwary joins Rudra in backing the project both creatively and financially. The film is expected to be pitched to international buyers at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival.
Kangana Ranaut was last seen in the political drama Emergency, where she portrayed former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. She also directed the film, which added another feather to her already versatile cap.
With Blessed Be The Evil, Kangana is poised to make a striking impression on global audiences, bringing Indian storytelling influences to an international horror narrative.
