Majako Mallika Drops: Sunil Ignites the Dance Floor as ‘Kattalan’ Kicks Off Music Promotions

The makers of Kattalan have unveiled the film’s first single, launching the soundtrack campaign in style. Produced by Shareef Muhammed under Cubes Entertainments, the high-octane action thriller introduces its music with a vibrant item track that places Telugu star Sunil front and center.

Titled “Majako Mallika,” the number is composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath, with lyrics by Vinayak Shashikumar and vocals by Anand Sriraj and Bhadra. The song has been rolled out across Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi, underlining the film’s pan-India ambition. Sunil’s spirited screen presence and brisk choreography give the track a celebratory, mass-appeal energy designed for theatrical impact.

Pan-India Release on May 14

Directed by debutant Paul George, Kattalan is slated for a May 14 theatrical release and is positioned as one of the season’s biggest Malayalam launches. The earlier teaser generated strong traction for its scale and action intensity, teasing set pieces rarely attempted in the industry.

The film stars Antony Varghese in the lead, alongside Dushara Vijayan, Kabir Duhan Singh, Raj Tharun (of Pushpa fame), and Parth Tiwari. The ensemble also features Malayalam veterans Jagadish and Siddique, along with Hanan Shah, Baby Jean, and Hipster.

International Action & Big-Ticket Deals

Action sequences are choreographed in Thailand by internationally acclaimed stunt coordinator Kecha Khamphakdee—known for the Ong-Bak series—alongside Action Santhosh. The famed elephant “Pong” (associated with Ong-Bak) also features in the film, adding to the spectacle.

Music rights have been secured by T-Series, while Shemaroo will handle digital and satellite distribution. Trade circles report robust pre-release business, including a major overseas deal, even before the film wraps production.
