Pawan Kalyan Returns to Hyderabad with Son Mark After Singapore Fire Incident, Expresses Gratitude to PM Modi

Actor and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has returned to Hyderabad, carrying his son Mark Shankar in his arms, following a distressing fire accident in Singapore. The incident, which occurred during a summer camp, left several children injured — including Pawan Kalyan’s 8-year-old son, who sustained burns on his hands and thighs and had to undergo a bronchoscopy.
The family, including Pawan Kalyan’s wife Anna Lezhneva, was spotted at the Hyderabad airport late on April 12. Videos of their arrival quickly circulated online, showing a visibly emotional Pawan Kalyan holding his son close as they made their way to their vehicle, surrounded by security. The family chose not to address the media during their return, maintaining a private and composed presence.
Shortly after settling in at home, Pawan Kalyan shared a heartfelt message on his social media, thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Prime Minister’s Office for their swift and compassionate response to the crisis. He revealed that he was in the remote tribal regions of Uttarandhra, participating in the Adavi Thalli Baata program and launching NDA-led developmental initiatives when he was informed about the fire in Singapore.
Pawan Kalyan expressed deep gratitude for the central government’s prompt assistance, noting that it brought strength not only to his family but also to the families of other affected children. He wrote, “Your thoughtful intervention during this time has meant the world to us and given us immense courage.”
The fire in Singapore tragically claimed the life of one child and left many others, including Mark, injured. The actor-politician flew out to Singapore immediately upon receiving the news and stayed with his son through the initial stages of recovery. He also expressed concern about the long-term impact of smoke inhalation on his son’s health.
Mark Shankar is the youngest child of Pawan Kalyan and Anna Lezhneva. The couple also has a daughter, Polena. The family is now back in Hyderabad, focusing on Mark’s continued recovery in the comfort of their home.
