Prabhas Launches The Script Craft International Short Film Festival, Opening Global Doors for New-Age Storytellers

The undisputed Pan-India superstar Prabhas has taken a bold step beyond the screen by unveiling the The Script Craft International Short Film Festival, a first-of-its-kind initiative aimed at reshaping global storytelling. The announcement, released through a powerful video, positions the festival as a creative movement designed to convert aspiring filmmakers’ dreams into real cinematic opportunities.

Widely celebrated for iconic films such as Baahubali, Salaar, and Kalki 2898 AD, Prabhas personally endorsed the vision behind The Script Craft, describing it as more than a competition. According to him, the platform is built to democratize filmmaking, ensuring that every storyteller—regardless of background—has a chance to be seen, heard, and launched.

In his message, Prabhas emphasized that “every voice deserves a beginning and every story deserves a chance,” inviting creators from around the world to participate and take their first step toward professional cinema.

Unlike conventional film contests, the Script Craft International Short Film Festival welcomes short films of two minutes or longer, across all genres, over a 90-day competitive window. Winners will be determined through audience engagement, including votes, likes, and ratings. Beyond awards, every participating film gains exposure to major production houses actively scouting talent through the Script Craft platform.

The announcement video also featured prominent filmmakers lending their support to the initiative. Sandeep Reddy Vanga highlighted the importance of short films in understanding the transition from written ideas to visual storytelling, encouraging aspirants to use this opportunity to sharpen their craft.
Nag Ashwin shared how discovering talent through short films led to major breakthroughs, stressing that practical work often outweighs formal film education.
Filmmaker Hanu Raghavapudi echoed similar sentiments, motivating young creators to present their vision confidently and pursue their cinematic ambitions.

Taking the initiative further, Quick TV has joined as an exclusive partner for emerging directors. Through its internal jury, Quick TV will select 15 outstanding filmmakers, each of whom will receive a fully funded 90-minute script project, complete production backing, and a global premiere on the platform. This collaboration ensures a direct leap from short filmmaking to full-length feature direction with international exposure.

Registrations for the festival are now open, with further details regarding categories and timelines to be announced shortly. A Script Craft representative stated that the platform is built on the belief that the next great filmmaker can emerge from anywhere in the world, provided they are given the right stage.

Founded by Thaalla Vaishnav and Pramod Uppalapati, The Script Craft is envisioned as a long-term ecosystem for writers, directors, and storytellers, offering visibility, mentorship, and career-building opportunities.

On the professional front, Prabhas continues to command global attention with a massive lineup that includes The Raja Saab, Fauzi, Spirit, Kalki 2898 AD Part 2, and Salaar Part 2.

With The Script Craft International Short Film Festival, Prabhas extends his influence beyond stardom—fueling a global creative revolution where stories, not connections, define success.
