Prabhas & Mohanlal’s Selfless Gesture: Why They Refused Pay for Vishnu Manchu’s Kannappa

Prabhas & Mohanlal’s Special Cameo in Kannappa: A Tribute to Friendship & Passion for Cinema
Vishnu Manchu’s much-anticipated mythological drama, Kannappa, is already making waves for its stellar cast and grandeur. The film boasts an impressive lineup, including Akshay Kumar as Lord Shiva and Kajal Aggarwal as Goddess Parvati. However, one of the biggest surprises for fans is the special cameo appearances by Tollywood’s Rebel Star Prabhas and Mollywood’s legendary actor Mohanlal.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Vishnu Manchu made a heartfelt revelation that has left fans in awe. He disclosed that both Prabhas and Mohanlal graciously refused to take any remuneration for their roles as Rudra and Kirata, respectively.
A Gesture of Respect & Brotherhood
Unlike many high-profile actors who demand hefty paychecks, these two superstars stepped forward without hesitation. Vishnu Manchu expressed his gratitude, stating:
“Both Prabhas and Mohanlal sir did not need any convincing. They were happy to shoot whenever needed and did it out of love for my dad. In fact, they both did not charge a single penny. They are so big that they didn’t need to do this character, yet they did.”
Mohanlal’s response further highlighted their deep-rooted bond. When Vishnu attempted to discuss financials with the veteran Malayalam actor, he playfully remarked:
“So, you think you’ve become a big boy now?”
This lighthearted exchange not only showcases their camaraderie but also reinforces the value of genuine friendships in the film industry.
Kannappa’s Grand Release & The Stars’ Busy Schedules
With the film eyeing an April 25, 2025, theatrical release, Kannappa has already generated immense buzz. The songs released so far have received a tremendous response, adding to the anticipation.
