Saira Banu, the former wife of renowned music composer AR Rahman, recently underwent surgery after being hospitalized due to a medical emergency. Her lawyer, Vandana Shah, released a statement on Instagram detailing the situation and requesting privacy for Saira during her recovery.

The statement expressed Saira’s gratitude for the support she received from friends and family, including Resul Pookutty and his wife Shadia, Vandana Shah, and AR Rahman himself. It also highlighted her desire for privacy as she focuses on her recovery.

In a heartfelt post, he reflected on their journey, acknowledging their hope to reach their 30th anniversary but accepting that life had other plans. He expressed gratitude to their friends for their support and requested privacy during this challenging time.

AR Rahman and Saira Banu were married in 1995 and have three children together: Khatija, Raheema, and Ameen.
