‘Sankranthiki Vasthunnam’ will be a blockbuster: Director Anil Ravipudi

“‘Sankranthiki Vasthunnam’ is a film every family can relate to. Audiences will leave the theaters happy. I am confident it will be a blockbuster”: Director Anil Ravipudi
The highly anticipated movie “Sankranthiki Vasthunnam” brings together Victory Venkatesh, blockbuster director Anil Ravipudi, and the successful production house Sri Venkateswara Creations. Presented by Dil Raju and produced by Sirish, the film stars Meenakshi Chaudhary and Aishwarya Rajesh as the female leads, with music by sensational composer Bheems Ceciroleo. The film’s released songs have already become hits, creating significant buzz, and the trailer has further amplified expectations. “Sankranthiki Vasthunnam” is set to hit theaters on January 14th. Director Anil Ravipudi recently shared insights about the film in a press meet.
On the film’s title and Sankranti release:
“We envisioned a festival film from the outset. My previous collaboration with Venkatesh, F2, was a Pongal release and a big success. F3 was also planned for Pongal but missed the mark. We were determined to release this film during Pongal. The story revolves around a rescue operation that unfolds just before Sankranti. We finalized the title “Sankranthiki Vasthunnam” during the scripting stage.”
On the film’s promotional strategy:
“The film landscape has changed post-Covid. Simply making a good film isn’t enough; reaching the audience is crucial. We focused heavily on social media promotions. Venkatesh’s active participation in fun and engaging promotional activities, including reels, has been instrumental in generating buzz.”
On the viral hit song “Godari Gattu”:
“When I first heard Bheems’s tune for ‘Godari Gattu,’ I envisioned a unique voice for it, and Ramana Gogula was our first choice. Bheems contacted him, and the rest is history. The song has become a global sensation with over 85 million views.”
On casting Aishwarya Rajesh:
“Bhagyam is a complex character that requires careful portrayal. Aishwarya is a brilliant performer, but we wanted to assess her suitability for the role, particularly her portrayal of the Godavari dialect and body language. We conducted a small audition, and she exceeded our expectations. This role will be a significant milestone in her career.”
On Venkatesh singing:
“Venkatesh loved the song ‘Blockbuster Pongal’ and expressed his desire to sing it himself. We were surprised but thrilled. He recorded the song in just 20 minutes, leaving even Bheems astonished.”
On working with composer Bheems Ceciroleo:
“I’ve wanted to work with Bheems for a long time. He’s incredibly talented and flexible. His music and background score for this film are exceptional.”
On the “no flashbacks” dialogue:
“Everyone has a past, but dwelling on it can have consequences. It’s better to focus on the present and move forward.”
On his long-standing association with Dil Raju’s banner:
“My journey with Dil Raju and Sirish began with Patas. They are like family to me. We have a strong connection, and it’s been a wonderful decade-long journey.”
On his collaboration with Venkatesh:
“Our bond has strengthened with each film. “Sankranthiki Vasthunnam” has brought us even closer. I hope to continue collaborating with him on many more projects.”
On his approach to working with actors:
“I approach actors with the same admiration I have for them as a fan. I believe in maintaining positive relationships, and that fosters mutual respect and affection.”
On the film’s unique selling point (USP):
“The USP of “Sankranthiki Vasthunnam” is its relatable story about a husband caught between his wife and ex-girlfriend. It’s a family entertainer with great songs, humor, and engaging content. Audiences will leave the theaters with a smile.”
On his confidence in the film’s success:
“I am extremely happy with the final product. We are as confident as we were with F2 and F3. It’s even more heartening to see the audience share our confidence.”
On future projects:
Anil expressed his desire to direct a women-centric sports drama in the future and hinted at the possibility of both an F4 and a “Sankranthiki Vasthunnam” franchise.
With its blend of humor, emotion, and relatable characters, “Sankranthiki Vasthunnam” appears poised to be another feather in Anil Ravipudi’s cap, offering a delightful cinematic experience for audiences this Sankranti.
