“Sivakarthikeyan Bets Big on ‘Parasakthi’: Adopts Profit-Sharing Model for the First Time”

Kollywood star Sivakarthikeyan is making waves yet again, but this time, it’s for a bold financial move. The Don actor, known for his commercial hits and charismatic screen presence, has reportedly embraced a profit-sharing remuneration model for his upcoming film, Parasakthi, directed by Sudha Kongara of Soorarai Pottru fame.
A Strategic Shift: Profit Over Fixed Salary
According to Indiaglitz Tamil, Sivakarthikeyan has opted out of a traditional fixed salary structure for Parasakthi, instead choosing a profit-sharing model. This means his earnings will be directly tied to the film’s box office performance—a high-risk, high-reward approach.
While top stars like Prabhas and Allu Arjun have previously adopted similar models, this marks a first for Sivakarthikeyan, signaling his immense confidence in the project. If the film performs exceptionally well, his earnings could surpass a standard paycheck. However, if it underperforms, he risks earning significantly less than a conventional remuneration deal.
What is ‘Parasakthi’ About?
Touted as a hard-hitting period drama, Parasakthi is set against the backdrop of Tamil Nadu’s 1965 anti-Hindi imposition protests. Sivakarthikeyan will reportedly portray M. Rajendran, a college student who becomes a martyr in the movement. The story is expected to delve into historical and socio-political themes, making it one of the actor’s most intense roles to date.
The film features an ensemble cast including Sreeleela (marking her Tamil debut), Ravi Mohan, Atharvaa, and Dev Ramnath. Reports suggest that Ravi Mohan plays the primary antagonist, and the climax will witness Sivakarthikeyan’s character meeting a tragic yet heroic end.

With his strategic career choices and willingness to take financial risks, Sivakarthikeyan is proving to be not just a versatile performer but also a calculated risk-taker in the industry.
