“Summer’s Romantic Comedy of the Year! Come with Your Families and Enjoy” – Actress Ketika Sharma on #Single
Talented actress Ketika Sharma is all set to entertain audiences with the upcoming wholesome entertainer #Single, under the prestigious Geetha Arts banner. Starring alongside Sri Vishnu and Ivana, the film also features Vennela Kishore in a key role. Directed by Karthik Raju, the movie is produced by Vidya Koppineedi, Bhanu Pratap, and Riyaz Chowdary in association with Kalyan Films and presented by mega producer Allu Aravind.
The teaser, trailer, and songs released so far have already created massive buzz around the film. Set to hit theatres on May 9, the team is confident that #Single will strike a chord with audiences. Speaking to the media ahead of the release, lead actress Ketika Sharma shared her experience and excitement.
How did you come on board this project? How was it working with Geetha Arts?
“I’ve always dreamt of working with Geetha Arts. When Allu Aravind garu presents a film, you can be sure the content is top-notch. When I got the call for this project, I was thrilled to finally be working with them. The story itself is full of fun and entertainment – it’s a complete package with a perfect star cast.”
Tell us about your role in the film.
“I play a character named Poorva, who is an independent and practical girl. The emotional depth of the story is largely driven by her character. While the film has some serious moments, it is an out-and-out romantic comedy entertainer. The love story is engaging, and Poorva is a very relatable character.”
How was your experience working with Sri Vishnu?
“Working with Sri Vishnu garu was amazing. He’s such a simple and humble person. He was incredibly supportive on set, and his comic timing is truly unique. He often improvises lines on the spot, and his performances are very spontaneous. It was a great learning experience.”
How was your rapport with co-star Ivana?
“Ivana is very beautiful and a lovely person. Although we only had a couple of scenes together on-screen, off-screen we became really good friends. She has a very positive energy.”
Your dance number “Adida Surprise” in Robin Wood went viral. Is there a similar song in this film?
“That song going viral made me really happy. But #Single doesn’t have a dance number like that. This film is more about fun and feel-good vibes. It’s a wholesome entertainer packed with humor – audiences will enjoy laughing their hearts out throughout.”
What was it like working with director Karthik Raju?
“Karthik garu is a very passionate filmmaker with a clear vision. He knows exactly what he wants and ensures everyone is comfortable on set. He has crafted #Single into a highly entertaining movie.”
Are you happy with how your career is shaping up?
“I’m very happy with my journey so far. Success and failure aren’t in our control, but working hard is. I always try to celebrate my career without worrying about results. I feel lucky to be pursuing acting.”
Do you have a dream role?
“I’d love to play a role like Rashmika Mandanna’s in her upcoming film under Geetha Arts. It’s such a beautiful character. I also admire performance-driven roles like the ones done by Sai Pallavi and Keerthy Suresh. I hope to explore such characters in the future.”
Was there a particularly difficult scene while shooting?
“Comedy is actually quite challenging. The interval bang sequence was the toughest for me – matching Sri Vishnu garu’s timing was no easy task!”
What’s coming up next for you?
“I’m currently working on a Hindi film and a Tamil-Telugu bilingual. A few more projects are in the pipeline, and the makers will announce them soon.”
