Timeless Bond Rekindled: 80s Stars Reunion Unites Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh, Jackie Shroff, Prabhu & 27 Other Legends in Chennai

The iconic 80s Stars Reunion, one of South Indian cinema’s most heartwarming traditions, made a grand yet humble return on October 4th, 2025, in Chennai — celebrating four decades of friendship, nostalgia, and unity among some of the most legendary names in Indian cinema.

After a three-year break, the reunion brought together 31 prominent stars from across the film industries of Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi cinema, proving once again that the bonds formed during the golden era of the 1980s remain unshakable.

❤️ A Gathering Rooted in Friendship and Simplicity

Originally scheduled for last year, the reunion was postponed due to the Chennai floods. Instead of the usual grandeur, this year’s event embraced simplicity and solidarity, reflecting the shared empathy for the state’s recent challenges.

At the collective request of the stars, Rajkumar Sethupathy and Sripriya graciously opened their home to host the gathering, replacing the traditional five-star venue. The evening’s arrangements were beautifully curated by Lissy Lakshmi, Poornima Bhagyaraj, Khushbu Sundar, and Suhasini Maniratnam, who have long been at the heart of this cherished annual tradition.

🎬 A Night of Nostalgia and Camaraderie

The evening was not about glitz or glamour — it was about shared memories, laughter, and genuine human connection.
Actors reminisced about their early days in cinema, exchanged stories from film sets, and reflected on how their careers and lives had evolved through the decades.

As Suhasini Maniratnam shared, “It wasn’t a celebration this time. It was a heartfelt evening — a moment to express unity, empathy, and gratitude for friendships that have lasted beyond fame and time.”

Adding to that, Lissy Lakshmi noted, “The 80s brought us together as artists, but what keeps us connected is the deep friendship that cinema gifted us. This gathering is our way of honoring that bond.”

🌍 An All-Star Reunion Across Industries

This year’s 80s Stars Reunion featured a powerhouse ensemble of talent representing every major South Indian industry — and even Bollywood.
Among the 31 attendees were:

Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh, Jackie Shroff, Sarathkumar, Rajkumar Sethupathy, Sripriya, Nadhiya, Radha, Suhasini, Ramya Krishnan, Jayasudha, Sumalatha, Rahman, Khushbu, Bhagyaraj, Poornima Bhagyaraj, Lissy, Naresh, Suresh, Shobana, Menaka, Revathy, Prabhu, Jayaram, Aswathi Jayaram, Saritha, Bhanuchander, Meena, Latha, Swapna, and Jayashree.

A Tradition That Transcends Time

The 80s Stars Reunion, which began as a casual meet-up years ago, has evolved into a symbol of unity in Indian cinema — celebrating the enduring relationships between artists who once ruled the silver screen.

Even after decades of stardom, changing trends, and evolving cinema, these stars continue to value their shared roots, mutual respect, and deep friendship. As dawn approached, the stars bid goodbye — not with tears, but with the warmth of togetherness and promises to reunite again next year.

🕊️ In Essence

The 80s Stars Reunion 2025 wasn’t about red carpets or flashing lights. It was a celebration of loyalty, love, and legacy — proof that the relationships forged in cinema’s golden era are truly timeless.
