Toxic Creates History Overseas: Phars Film Secures Massive Deal for Indian-Language Versions

Even before reaching theatres, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups continues to redefine the scale of Indian cinema with one landmark deal after another. The film had earlier stunned the trade by becoming the first non-Telugu origin film to clinch a ₹120 crore Andhra Pradesh–Telangana distribution agreement with Sri Venkateswara Creations, headed by Dil Raju—a move that sent ripples across the industry. Now, Toxic has taken an even bigger leap on the global stage.

In a major overseas breakthrough, the film’s Indian-language versions have been acquired by Phars Film, one of the most influential international distributors of Indian cinema. The deal, valued at ₹105 crore (advance on commission basis), is being hailed as one of the highest overseas acquisitions ever for an Indian film, underscoring extraordinary confidence from the global market.

Significantly, this agreement covers only the Indian-language editionsKannada, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam—and does not include the English version. This distinction further highlights the immense standalone appeal of Toxic in Indian languages across international territories. Notably, this massive valuation has come even before the teaser launch, reflecting strong ground-level buzz and faith in the film and its leading star.

The global confidence in Toxic is rooted in the towering international legacy of Yash. His previous blockbuster, KGF: Chapter 2, rewrote overseas box-office history, emerging as the highest-grossing Indian film in the GCC region and delivering record-breaking numbers across multiple international markets. That unprecedented success has laid a powerful foundation for Toxic to aim even higher.

The Yash starrer is now being positioned for what is planned as the widest international release ever for an Indian film, with theatrical rollouts across nearly the entire world—excluding Nepal, Japan, and China. This bold strategy firmly establishes Toxic as a global cinematic event in the making.

Speaking about the overseas acquisition, Ahmad Golchin, CEO and Founder of Phars Film, shared that the vision behind Toxic was always to tell a story that transcends borders. He expressed pride in presenting the film to international audiences and emphasized the universal emotional intensity and cultural resonance that the film aims to deliver worldwide.

Echoing similar sentiments, Venkat K. Narayana of KVN Productions stated that Toxic was conceived as a film with a universal cinematic language, requiring a distribution partner with exceptional global reach and credibility. He noted that Phars Film’s proven expertise in positioning Indian cinema internationally makes them an ideal collaborator for this landmark overseas release, adding confidence that the film will open worldwide with scale, impact, and momentum.

With a record-breaking Telugu domestic deal, a ₹105 crore overseas acquisition, and the formidable global precedent of KGF 2, Toxic is rapidly cementing its reputation as a worldwide phenomenon long before release. Mounted on a massive international canvas, the film promises a visually striking cinematic universe powered by elite technicians, cutting-edge VFX, and an ambitious storytelling vision—setting expectations for a potential ₹1000-crore mega blockbuster.

Written by Yash and Geetu Mohandas, and directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups has been simultaneously filmed in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions planned in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and additional languages—reinforcing its global ambition.

The film features an exceptional technical team, including National Award-winning cinematographer Rajeev Ravi, music composer Ravi Basrur, editor Ujwal Kulkarni, and production designer TP Abid. High-octane action sequences are choreographed by Hollywood stunt director JJ Perry (John Wick), alongside acclaimed action directors Anbariv and Kecha Khamphakdee.

Produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash under KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, Toxic is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on March 19, 2026, strategically aligned with Eid, Ugadi, and Gudi Padwa, firmly positioning it as a high-stakes, cross-cultural cinematic spectacle.
