Vijay Deverakonda Opens Up on Love, Rashmika Mandanna, and What He’s Really Focused on Right Now

Vijay Deverakonda, one of Telugu cinema’s most charismatic stars, has once again sparked conversation — but not for a movie announcement. This time, it’s about what (or who) he isn’t looking for.

In a recent chat with Filmfare, when asked what he seeks in a life partner, Vijay gave a straightforward reply: “Currently not looking for a life partner.” That candid remark comes amid ongoing rumors linking him with actress Rashmika Mandanna, his frequent co-star and a name often paired with his both on and off screen.

When probed further on whether Rashmika fits his ideal, Vijay kept things broad yet respectful, saying, “Any good woman with a good heart fits the bill.”

On their on-screen camaraderie, Vijay was quick to downplay the hype: “We haven’t actually worked together much. I think we should do more films together. Rashmika’s a very talented actress and a beautiful person, but chemistry isn’t something I focus on.”

His remarks arrive just as speculation swirls around their rumored reunion for an upcoming project tentatively titled VD14. While the film hasn’t been officially announced, fans are already eager to see the duo share screen space again.

What’s Next for Vijay?

While romance may not be top of mind, cinema surely is. Vijay is gearing up for his next big venture — Kingdom, a spy thriller directed by Jersey fame Gowtam Tinnanuri. Originally scheduled for a May 30, 2025 release, the film’s launch has been pushed to July 4, 2025, reportedly in light of current geopolitical tensions between India and Pakistan — which play into the film’s plot.

Kingdom also stars Bhagyashri Borse in the lead and features Satyadev in a key role. With music by the sensational Anirudh Ravichander, the film’s first single, “Hridayam Lopala,” has already made waves online.
